The Blueberry Orchard 
Mountain Blue Orchards has plantings of both Southern Highbush and Rabbiteye blueberry
varieties. The season at Mountain Blue Orchards varies from June through
to early January. Blueberry picking is all done by hand and fruit is sorted
into 1st and 2nd grade classes.
Pickers at Mountain Blue Orchards are
employed locally helping ensure consistency in quality.
Picking on the farm is for commercial
markets, including the major supermarket chains in Australia. The farms packing shed is quality assured for both domestic and export
markets. With two efficient packing lines, product is shipped to markets
throughout the world at guaranteed timing and quality.
The development of new earlier blueberry varieties,
has allowed Mountain Blue Orchards to fulfil significant market gaps within
Australia and Internationally. Markets outside Australia include Asia and
Europe.
Orchard maintenance is done throughout the year to
ensure plants are maintained and get the best yields in following years. A full
time team is employed to carry out day-to-day jobs including pruning, spraying
and weed control.
