We all love the peak blueberry season when the bounty is high and the berries crisp – and the price is just right so we can enjoy handfuls! But the work behind ensuring that the best berries are in consumers' hands when berries are abundant starts well before the season ramps up and one man who works to develop the clear path to ensure the quality berries arrive when demand is there is Luke Moss.
Luke is the Category demand planner for Mountain Blue, and he works with our grower network daily alongside warehouses to ensure we have the best stock to meet both the retailer and consumer demand. In this post, we will hear from Luke and discover how his roles connect suppliers and consumers as well as learn about his love of Rugby and Berries.
As Category Demand Manager, Luke works with retailers and growers to plan stock supply as demand rises. Working closely with our grower network, Luke forecasts the available product for retailers and works with third parties to plan logistics for the demand required.
Not only does Luke enjoy working with the great team at Mountain Blue, but Luke is also a big Blueberry fan.
Why? “The crunch, texture and taste” with our Eureka variety his favourite. Luke is a newer member to the Mountain Blue family and whilst the people make coming to work fun, he feels the berry industry in Australia is “vast – with so much to learn and grow”. With a keen eye for process and detail, we know our blueberry plans are in good hands with Luke.
Luke is a sports enthusiast, with a love of Golf. When he is not planning blueberry orders, you will find Luke planning fishing trips with family and friends or relaxing watching the rugby league – his favourite sports.
